It’s another win for the Philippines! Antonio’s, a restaurant in Tagaytay, Philippines took the 84th spot of the prestigious Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant 51-100 List this 2021! This sweet victory inspired Antonio’s to rise above the challenges they are facing because of the pandemic. Due to Covid-19, travelling and indoor dining was prohibited and outdoor dining was limited to a 50% guest capacity.

The Chef behind Antonio’s Success

After travelling for several years, Antonio’s Patron Chef, Chef Tony Boy Escalante, decided it’s time to pursue his passion for food. His tour around the world made him realize the beauty of restaurants in rural areas.

Antonio’s started from a humble vegetable farm and a dream. This is where Chef Tony Boy took inspiration of the lush greenery surrounding the restaurant. He wants to revive that nostalgic vision of where he was born.

Antonio’s goal is to establish a perfect balance between excellent food and a comfortable ambiance. They love and respect their ingredients by doing their explicit culinary techniques. Antonio’s also prioritizes customer hospitality. They emphasize that Antonio’s is more than a restaurant. It is an experience.

Gourmet Dishes

Roasted Lamb Cutlets

These gorgeous cutlets of meat are served with Caramel, Prunes, and Buttered Thyme Marbled Potatoes.

Steamed Chilean Sea Bass

This fresh Sea Bass is sitting on Bouillabaisse Velouté (rich soup made of fish stock) and Garlic Aioli (seasoned mayonnaise) and Boiled Potato.

Tournedos Rossini

Antonio’s Tournedos Rossini consists of Beef Medallion, Pan-Seared Foie Gras (liver of a duck or goose), Blueberries, with Red Wine Thyme Jus (juice coming from the meat as it cooks), baked Gratin Potato (“gratin” means a dish with a slightly brown crust on top).

Duck Leg Confit

This glistening Duck Leg is slowly cooked over several hours as a way of preserving the meat. It is served with Orange Juniper Berry sauce.

Antonio’s interior is a combination of warmth and elegance.
